PLANT OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR 

Mercy Medical Center in downtown, Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a Plant Operations Supervisor to supervise plant operations staff engaged in the operation, installation, maintenance and repair of all building wide systems throughout the medical center and various outreach clinics.  Duties include:  supervising staff engaged in the PM of equipment as per established PM schedule and accurately keeping records for regulatory agencies; conducting periodic inspections of completed work requests and PM to ensure quality of work; completing general maintenance work requests as needed; participating in development of departmental policies and procedures; overseeing orders of stock and/or parts to minimize downtimes; assuring tools, materials and equipment are returned to proper locations; and other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:  Must possess high school diploma or GED.  Must possess 3-5 years of progressive responsible management experience.  Must possess skills in advanced electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.

Bayhealth Medical Center, southern Delaware’s largest healthcare system is comprised of Kent General and Milford Memorial Hospitals, Middletown Medical Center, and numerous satellite facilities. Bayhealth is a technologically advanced not-for-profit healthcare system employing over 2,900 with a medical staff of 455 physicians.

 

Milford Memorial Hospital is a 134 bed, acute care community institution located in Milford, DE, approximately 20 miles south of Dover. Bayhealth has been nationally recognized as a provider of superior patient care and continues its growth to serve the population of this region.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations for Bayhealth, the Milford Memorial Hospital’s Manager of Plant Operations has direct responsibility for the leadership of facilities operations of this 300,000 square foot institution. Responsibilities include all aspects of plant maintenance, construction, compliance, as well as oversight of utilities performance and engineering services.

·         Assess and acquire current technologies for the support of plant operations initiatives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

The successful candidate will ideally possess an undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline closely related to engineering, or facilities /environmental management and a demonstrated working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles in facilities operations. Additionally, a minimum of 4 years management experience in a similarly complex healthcare institution is required with a CHFM designation highly desired.
